About The Position

As a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) at [Brand-Location], a critical illness recovery hospital, you will provide world-class inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients requiring extended healing and recovery. You will play a central role in providing compassionate, excellent treatment during vulnerable and painful moments. The role involves understanding the physical, mental, psychological, and social needs of patients, with a focus on communication skills, evaluation, and treatment. You will collaborate with associates to provide quality interdisciplinary patient programming, conduct comprehensive evaluations of communication and swallowing functions, and provide goal-oriented treatment to maximize patient potential. You will also participate in monitoring the quality of services, peer review, developing the SLP role, and maintaining supply stock, while sharing professional knowledge and experience.

Requirements

  • Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist required.
  • Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required.

Nice To Haves

  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language & Hearing Association.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a comprehensive evaluation of communication skills and/or swallowing function.
  • Provide goal-oriented treatment to facilitate maximum communication and/or swallowing potential.
  • Participate with fellow staff in monitoring the quality of services provided by the Rehab Therapy Department.
  • Participate in peer review for staff performance and appraisals.
  • Assist in the development of the SLP role in programs and services, as well as revising the departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining an adequate stock of supplies.
  • Exhibit willingness to share professional knowledge and experience.
  • Alert the Manager to educational needs.
