About The Position

The Speech Language Pathologist will be responsible for conducting assessments and evaluations to determine educational eligibility and level of functioning. This role involves developing and coordinating treatment plans, consulting with team members and families, and maintaining accurate records of student progress. The position also includes overseeing and supporting the Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) and managing time off requests to ensure minimal disruption to operations.

Requirements

  • Current Speech Language Pathologist license in the state where services are delivered or eligibility to obtain such licensure.
  • Department of Education certification (if applicable), and any relevant certifications (e.g., CPR, CPI) as needed.
  • DOJ/FBI Livescan background check and TB clearance required.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably one year of experience in speech therapy; clinical fellows or RPE candidates are welcome.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices and special education programs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct compliant, formalized and dynamic assessments to determine educational eligibility/level of functioning.
  • Complete observations and evaluations, and manage annual and triennial reviews.
  • Develop and maintain compliant IEPs and participate in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Develop and coordinate treatment plans with interdisciplinary team members to ensure educational benefit.
  • Consult with team members, including families, to maximize generalization of target skill sets.
  • Oversee and support the Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA), including monitoring supervision hours and promoting ongoing professional development.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, including therapy notes and assessment data.
  • Use research-based data for monitoring and reporting.
  • Schedule time off during school breaks and ensure requests are reviewed and approved by the supervisor to ensure minimal disruption to normal operations.
