About The Position

This is a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position covering an FMLA leave for high school students (grades 9-12). The role involves managing a caseload of approximately 45 students, providing direct speech-language therapy services aligned with student IEPs, and supporting students in developing functional communication and life skills. The position focuses on working with students with low-incidence disabilities and complex communication needs, implementing and supporting Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems, and collaborating with various educational professionals and families. The role also requires participation in IEP meetings, maintaining accurate documentation, and utilizing evidence-based behavioral strategies.

Requirements

  • Active Illinois IDFPR Speech-Language Pathologist License required
  • Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) through ISBE required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous school-based experience preferred
  • Experience with AAC and students with significant disabilities strongly preferred
  • Experience working with students who have significant communication needs
  • Comfortable supporting students with low-incidence disabilities
  • Comfortable implementing and programming AAC devices and communication systems

Responsibilities

  • Manage a blended caseload of approximately 45 students
