About The Position

The role of a speech-language pathologist at Playworks is to provide evaluation and treatment/support for children with speech, language, and communication needs onsite within a team-based approach, involving parents, classroom teams, and other specialists. You will be a leader in the classroom growing the minds of our next generation!

Requirements

Hold a Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology
Must hold a MN Department of Health License in the area of Speech-Language Pathology
Experience working with children ages birth-5
Good physical stamina with the ability to lift children as well as bending, kneeling, sitting and child size tables and chairs and on the floor.
Valid class D driver’s license may be required with a good driving record.
One year agreement.
Submit invoices for payment on work that was done.
Provide own liability insurance,
This is a Safety Sensitive position which is subject to testing for drugs (THC included) and alcohol in accordance with the Federal Department of Transportation Regulations as well as the SMSC’s drug/THC and alcohol Policy.

Nice To Haves

Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred. Clinical Fellow in Speech-Language Pathology (CF-SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLP-A) will not be considered for the position.

Responsibilities

Evaluate children for speech, language, and communication concerns seen in the classroom and/or as reported by parents
Provide direct therapy services to students in the least restrictive environment
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and Playworks team to support student communication goals and success in the classroom and across environments
Provide parent and teacher education as well as home programming to help children continue progress across different environments
Maintain detailed and accurate records for evaluation reports, progress notes, and daily notes.
Participate in meetings and provide input on student goals and progress to each child’s service team
Stay current with best practices and continue professional development as required per ASHA requirements
