About The Position

Liberty POST is seeking an Early Childhood Speech Language Pathologist to work with children from birth through age 5 in Early Intervention and Preschool Special Education programs. Part-time and full-time positions are available throughout Long Island. The work includes evaluating children, providing individualized therapy and family education, and supporting children in their natural learning environments through child-directed play. The role involves tracking progress, developing and adjusting treatment plans, documenting evaluations and treatment in an Electronic Medical Record system, and complying with state requirements for Early Intervention and special education.

Requirements

• Current New York State licensure and/or certification in Speech Language Pathology.
• Knowledge of MS Word and comfort working with computer systems.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Early childhood experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, monitor, and track children’s progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
• Test and evaluate children’s abilities to establish realistic goals.
• Document initial evaluations, treatment, and progress in a timely manner using an Electronic Medical Record system.
• Write detailed analyses and reports.
• Organize and maintain the confidentiality of children’s records and other documentation.
• Follow state laws and regulations concerning Early Intervention and CPSE/CSE special education.
