About The Position
Bayshore Home Care Solutions, Niagara Branch, seeks a Casual Speech Language Pathologist to join our growing team. This is a casual per visit role, offered as either an employee or independent contractor permanent position. The work environment is community-based with a mix of in-person and virtual client visits. The schedule is flexible, allowing for work Monday-Friday, weekends, or a combination thereof, within the Niagara Region. The role offers a competitive per visit rate plus a non-clinical hourly rate for work activities and trainings. Employee compensation includes sick pay, vacation pay, RRSP, and health benefits, or an independent contractor contract is available. Requirements
- Master’s Degree or recognized equivalent in Speech-Language Pathology
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Audiologists or Speech-Language Pathologists required.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of personal computers, and proficiency with secure email.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
Nice To Haves
- 2-3 years experience providing Speech-Language Pathology services preferred.
- Experience completing in-home assessments and treatments is an asset.
- Enjoy working with clients of all ages in multiple treatment environments.
- Strong communication (oral and written) and exceptional interpersonal and decision-making skills.
Responsibilities
- Conduct Comprehensive Assessments: Utilize your expertise to diagnose a wide range of speech, language, and communication disorders.
- Develop Tailored Treatment Plans: Create and implement personalized, evidence-based therapy plans that cater to each client’s unique needs.
- Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work closely with physicians, psychologists, educators, and other allied health professionals, such as occupational therapists, physiotherapists and social workers, to provide holistic and integrated care.
- Maintain Accurate Records: Ensure meticulous and up-to-date client records, adhering to all regulatory standards.
- Engage in Continuous Learning: Stay ahead in your field by participating in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
- Educate and Empower Clients: Provide clients and their families with effective strategies to support communication and swallowing functions, enhancing their quality of life.
- Maintain active standing in College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario.
- Participate in ongoing internal and/or external education activities
- Adhere to Bayshore Therapy & Rehab Policies and Procedures
- Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System
- Participate in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties. Responsible to notify immediate Supervisor of any Health & Safety risks or concerns.
- Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel
