About The Position

At Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, join a collaborative inpatient acute rehabilitation team where your expertise as a Speech Language Pathologist makes a meaningful impact—on your schedule with a flexible per diem opportunity. Provide comprehensive assessment and treatment for patients with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders, helping them regain function and independence. Build strong, trusting relationships with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams through compassionate care, clinical excellence, and clear communication. Ensure safe, high-quality care by adhering to clinical standards and regulatory guidelines, while contributing to a supportive learning environment through mentorship of assistants, aides, and students.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited speech pathology program.
  • 2 years recent relevant experience.
  • Licensed Speech Pathologist (SP).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Valid Driver's License (for SCAH department).
  • Automobile Insurance (for SCAH department).
  • Critical thinking, complex problem solving, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge and application of professional practice and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to work in a demanding work environment, organize multiple priorities, and complete work duties within expected timelines and requirements.
  • Computer and required technology proficiency/competencies.
  • Effective and efficient professional communication (verbal & written) skills.
  • Interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, teamwork/collaboration, customer service, and community relations abilities.
  • Able to retain and apply new knowledge & skills.
  • Keeps abreast of professional practice development and advancement.
