About The Position

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides comprehensive services to learners aged birth to 21 with communication needs impacting their education and social interactions. The SLP partners with educators, families, and communities, delivering direct services, consultation, coaching, and training. Responsibilities include completing Child Find tasks to determine eligibility for Special Education, assessing learner communication skills, developing and implementing evidence-based intervention plans addressing language, articulation, fluency, and voice disorders, and ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines. The SLP fosters positive learning environments and promotes learner success within the educational setting.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution
  • Iowa Bureau of Educational Examiners (BoEE) B-21 Speech-Language Pathologist License: Must hold one of the following: Statement of Professional Recognition (SPR) – 237); or Professional Service License – 237
  • Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) License
  • Central Rivers AEA requires all SLPs to maintain a current IDPH license as an agency requirement.

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (ASHA CCCs) is encouraged
