About The Position

Speech Language Pathologists are encouraged to consider a unique career opportunity and available part-time position with Liberty Healthcare at the Stockley Center. The Stockley Center is a modern 50-bed intermediate care facility which provides intermediate and skilled nursing care to adults who are living with significant physical and developmental disabilities. As a Speech and Language Pathologist at the Stockley Center you will use your expertise to support others so they may have a voice, achieve their personal goals, and pursue their interests and desires.

Requirements

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA
Delaware license to practice Speech-Language Pathology
Experience working with adults with significant physical and developmental disabilities
Experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices
Experience with feeding and swallowing evaluations and therapy

Nice To Haves

Experience working in an intermediate care facility
Experience with interdisciplinary team collaboration
Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

Conducting speech, language, communication, and swallowing evaluations
Developing and implementing person-centered treatment plans addressing: Expressive and receptive language, Augmentative and alternative communication, Speech intelligibility, Feeding and swallowing
Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings
Collaborating with nurses, physicians, occupational therapists, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, dietitians, and direct support professionals
Promoting resident dignity, choice, independence, and inclusion
Training and educating caregivers and direct support professionals
