About The Position

Peninsula Post Acute is seeking a compassionate and motivated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our in-house rehabilitation team on a PRN basis. As a rehabilitation-focused skilled nursing facility, we are committed to helping our residents maximize their communication, cognition, swallowing, and overall quality of life. Our therapists have access to advanced rehabilitation technology and work alongside an experienced interdisciplinary team in a collaborative, supportive environment.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Current California Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license in good standing.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and clinical skills.
  • Passion for utilizing innovative technology to improve resident outcomes.

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; Clinical Fellowship candidates (CFYs) are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat residents with speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on comprehensive clinical evaluations.
  • Perform clinical swallowing evaluations and implement evidence-based dysphagia management strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including evaluations, daily treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, dietitians, therapists, residents, and families to support optimal functional outcomes.
  • Educate residents, caregivers, and staff on communication strategies, swallowing precautions, and home programs.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences and quality improvement initiatives.
