About The Position

California Rehabilitation Institute, a joint venture with Cedars, UCLA, and Select Medical, is seeking a Per Diem Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for its Outpatient Therapy clinic in Century City/Los Angeles, CA. The clinic specializes in providing care to patients with neurologic injuries or disorders (CVA, BI, SCI, PD, etc.) and other conditions. The team offers PT, OT, and SLP services with an emphasis on coordinated, multidisciplinary care and a smooth transition through the continuum of care. They are looking for an SLP who will contribute to the clinic's development and growth, is committed to high-quality patient care, values teamwork and communication, and can work with minimal supervision. While adult neuro experience is preferred, other candidates may be considered. Specializations are preferred but not required. The SLP must be able to treat all areas of adult SLP practice, including cognitive, speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Clinic hours are typically 8 am – 5:15 pm, Monday through Friday, with primarily 1:1 patient care, subject to change based on patient care and market needs. CFY applicants cannot be accommodated at this time.

Requirements

  • Current state licensure as Speech Language Pathologist required.
  • Certified CLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required.

Nice To Haves

  • SLPs with adult neuro experience are preferred.
  • Specializations are preferred but not required.
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language & Hearing Association preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements and modifies treatment plan in accordance with the patient’s need and physician direction.
  • Responsible for delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for those assigned patients.
  • Ensures the design of functional treatment programs allowing for an effective return to community activities.
  • Serves as an educator of patients, families, students, co-workers and self.
  • Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, development of discipline-specific therapy services and design of program delivery.
  • Coordinate treatment program in conjunction with other clinical/therapeutic services as available community resources.
