About The Position

TheraPeds Partners is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team for a part-time, school-based opportunity in Chestertown, MD for the 2026–2027 school year. This role involves working with students in Pre-K through High School, providing direct therapy services, conducting evaluations, developing IEP goals, and collaborating with educators, therapists, and families to help students develop essential communication skills. The position offers a hybrid work model, with onsite service time and offsite documentation/planning time.

Requirements

  • Master's or doctoral degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program
  • Active or eligible for Maryland Speech-Language Pathologist licensure
  • Appropriate Maryland Department of Education certification or credential for school-based practice, as required
  • Experience working with children
  • Strong understanding of speech and language development, assessment, intervention, and progress monitoring
  • Knowledge of the IEP process and special education services
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational, documentation, case-management, and time-management skills
  • Comfortable using technology for documentation, communication, assessment, and service delivery
  • Ability to successfully complete required fingerprinting and background clearances
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, educators, administrators, and related-service professionals
  • Professionalism, tact, discretion, and respect for student and family confidentiality
  • Master's or PhD degree from a Speech-Language Pathology program
  • State License as Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Department of Education Licensure as a SLP
  • National License: ASHA
  • Licensing with the State Department of Education, where required
  • Experience working with children
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in use of technology
  • Fingerprint background clearance
  • Ability to collaborate with school staff and parents with a demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications

Nice To Haves

  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
  • Clinical Fellowship (CF-SLP) candidates may be considered, with appropriate supervision available
  • School-based experience preferred, but not required
  • CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence) preferred
  • CF-SLP placement may be available
  • Experience in a school setting preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Providing direct speech and language therapy services to students individually and in small groups
  • Conducting speech and language evaluations and assessments
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized IEP goals
  • Evaluating student progress and adjusting intervention strategies based on student needs and data
  • Providing consultation and support to teachers, special education staff, and families
  • Supporting students with articulation, phonology, receptive and expressive language, fluency, voice, social/pragmatic communication, and other communication needs
  • Supporting students who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), as appropriate
  • Monitoring student performance and collecting data to measure progress
  • Completing timely and accurate documentation and progress reports
  • Participating in IEP, eligibility, reevaluation, and interdisciplinary team meetings
  • Managing assigned student caseloads and required documentation
  • Collaborating with teachers, special education staff, families, therapists, administrators, and other school professionals
  • Providing case management services, as assigned
