About The Position

Ascension Saint Thomas Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a PRN Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for their Inpatient Rehabilitation unit. This role involves providing care on an as-needed basis, with flexibility for weekday and weekend coverage. Requirements

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology
• Current state board of speech-language pathology & audiology certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 60 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
• Designs and implements a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient and family.
• Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress.
• Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services.
• Supervises activities of clinical fellows, students, and other support personnel.
