About The Position

The Speech-Language Pathologist works directly with infants, toddlers, and children with developmental disabilities and delays in the home, community, and clinic environment; delivering services in a group or individual manner. They may also provide clinical service to the adult population. The speech-language pathologist also provides education to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association; CFY’s also considered
  • Illinois Department of Professional Regulation State Licensure.
  • Early Intervention Credential in Speech-Language Pathology or willing to obtain with Agency support
  • Must have a Valid Illinois Driver’s License, Car, and Auto Insurance
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Performs the full range of clinical duties, including the gathering and analysis of data, formulation of treatment plans, and implementation of the intervention for routine and complex cases.
  • Performs assessments of each client using information provided, standardized tools and/or analysis of clinical observation.
  • Provides caregiver education, modeling, and coaching as appropriate.
  • Formulates understanding of clients’ needs, including the family, providing appropriate services with supervisory consultation.
  • Develops and implements skills in providing appropriate services with increasing responsibility for the appraisal of the effectiveness of own work.
  • Provides resources and education to community stakeholders.
  • Performs record-keeping functions and other administrative duties as required by the Agency.
  • Participates in agency staff development programs and professional group seminars or conferences to increase professional knowledge and to report on own work.
  • Collaborates with other agency personnel, supervisor, appropriate specialists or consultants on specific case related problems.
  • May support student interns when mutually decided b/w SLP and supervisor.
