About The Position

MUSC is hiring a PRN Speech Language Pathologist for inpatient rehabilitation at MUSC Health Florence Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina. The role administers treatments according to physician referrals and organizes and conducts speech therapy programs to help rehabilitate patients with speech and/or language deficiencies. It evaluates patients and administers or directs therapeutic procedures used in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as prescribed by a referring practitioner. The Speech Language Pathologist establishes therapy goals, reassesses progress at regular intervals, and documents findings. The position is required to provide care to patients of all ages.

MUSC Health Florence Medical Center is a regional acute care facility with 396 patient beds, more than 1,500 employees, and nearly 300 physicians. Its services include heart and vascular care, cancer treatment, orthopedic and general surgery, diagnostics, women’s health, and rehabilitation.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited school.
• South Carolina Board Certified or eligible.
• BLS certification required.
• Current driver’s license.
• New graduates are acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Administer treatments to patients in accordance with physician referrals.
• Organize and conduct speech therapy programs to facilitate rehabilitation of speech and/or language deficiencies.
• Evaluate patients and administer or direct therapeutic procedures used in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, as prescribed by a referring practitioner.
• Establish speech therapy goals and reassess patient progress at regular intervals.
• Document findings appropriately.
• Provide care to patients of all ages.
