About The Position

UC Davis Rehabilitation Hospital, operated jointly with Lifepoint Health and UC Davis Health, is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) on a per diem (PRN) basis. This role is crucial in providing superior patient care to individuals recovering from stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, trauma, spinal cord injury, amputation, and orthopedic injury. The hospital is a state-of-the-art, 52-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation facility dedicated to the treatment and recovery of individuals who have experienced the debilitating effects of a severe injury or illness. The SLP will assess speech, language, and swallowing abilities, develop and implement treatment plans, educate patients and families, document progress, and collaborate with healthcare teams.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Experience in acute or rehab setting preferred.
• Current SLP license and ASHA certification.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assess speech, language, and swallowing abilities.
• Develop and implement treatment plans based on patient needs.
• Provide education to patients and families regarding therapy goals.
• Document evaluations, treatments, and patient progress accurately.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams on care coordination.
