About The Position

As a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) at [Brand-Location], a critical illness recovery hospital, you will provide world-class inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients requiring extended healing and recovery. You will play a central role in providing compassionate, excellent treatment during vulnerable and painful moments. The role involves understanding the physical, mental, psychological, and social needs of patients, with a focus on communication skills, evaluation, and treatment in collaboration with other associates for interdisciplinary patient programming.

Requirements

  • Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist required.
  • Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required.

Nice To Haves

  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language & Hearing Association.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a comprehensive evaluation of communication skills and/or swallowing function.
  • Provide goal-oriented treatment to facilitate maximum communication and/or swallowing potential.
  • Monitor the quality of services provided by the Rehab Therapy Department.
  • Participate in peer review for staff performance and appraisals.
  • Assist in the development of the SLP role in programs and services.
  • Assist in revising departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining an adequate stock of supplies.
  • Share professional knowledge and experience.
  • Alert the Manager to educational needs.
