About The Position

The Corbett Hall Early Education Program (CHEEP) is operated out of the Department of Communication Sciences. CHEEP provides specialized preschool programming to children, aged two and a half to five years, diagnosed with developmental delays/disorders. The Funding to operate CHEEP is provided through specialized funding (Program Unit Funds, etc.) from Alberta Education. Programing is designed and implemented by a team of education/intervention specialists to support children in expanding and developing their skills and abilities across developmental areas, with a strong focus on communication. CHEEP serves as a clinical placement and laboratory learning environment for MSLP students.

  • Developing communication objectives
  • Implementing treatment plans
  • Reviewing client progress
  • Providing support and models to the classroom team to facilitate role release for communication objectives
  • Supporting development of the clients across other developmental domains (motor, social-emotional, cognitive, self-help, sensory processing)
  • Directly supervising MSLP students in the classroom
