Unified Community Connections is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to join its growing Assistive Technology Department. This position offers an SLP with experience and interest in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and Assistive Technology (AT) the opportunity to develop or expand expertise in this specialized area of practice. The SLP will conduct AAC, speech-language, and assistive technology assessments; identify and trial appropriate technology solutions; prepare comprehensive assessment reports; and provide individualized therapy and training services to individuals with a variety of disabilities. In addition to AAC, the SLP will have the opportunity to work with a broad range of assistive technologies designed to support communication, physical access, cognition, low vision, independence, education, employment, and participation in everyday activities. This is a community-based position that requires regular day travel throughout Maryland. Candidates must be willing and able to drive to client locations and independently manage a flexible schedule and caseload. Travel reimbursement is provided. Candidates with AAC/AT experience are encouraged to apply; however, extensive assistive technology experience is not required. We welcome SLPs with AAC experience, an interest in technology, strong clinical and problem-solving skills, and a desire to develop greater expertise in assistive technology. This position is well suited to an SLP who enjoys assessment, technology, problem-solving, professional writing, collaboration, and working independently. The role provides the opportunity to work with a wide range of communication and assistive technologies while helping individuals increase communication, independence, and participation in their everyday lives.
