This position supports instructional programming by providing speech/language therapy to students as required. The Speech Language Pathologist will schedule students into appropriate instructional groups and provide therapeutic services in both the general education and Speech office to students with a wide variety of speech and language disorders and student needs. The role involves performing diagnostic evaluations, implementing treatment plans, and consulting and collaborating with classroom teachers and other school staff members to implement effective therapy. The Speech Language Pathologist will also serve as a consultant to school staff members in the development of services, participate in Team and parent meetings, and be responsible for goal writing and occasionally serving as a liaison for IEPs. Thorough records of individual students receiving services must be maintained. Assistance with mobility, transitioning, and personal care may be needed. Knowledge of AAC is preferred.
