About The Position
The Speech Language Pathologist position is a part-time role in Rehab Services at UAB St. Vincent’s Blount. This role involves evaluating and treating patients requiring speech-language therapy, performing therapy interventions, educating and counseling patients and families, maintaining clinical records, and planning patient discharge. The position also involves providing information about appropriate support programs.
Requirements
- Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Speech-Language Pathologist/Audiologist according to the rules and regulations of the Alabama State Board of Speech Language Pathology required.
- Graduate from an accredited program relevant to professional licensure required.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients requiring speech-language therapy.
- Perform therapy interventions utilizing standard therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the condition of the patient.
- Educate and counsel patient and family regarding treatment plans.
- Maintain clinical records and follow performance improvement recommendations.
- Plan and/or assist with patient discharge from speech therapy services.
- Provide information regarding appropriate support programs.
