About The Position

This is a short-term maternity leave coverage position for the 2026-2027 school year, running from August to November in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The role involves providing speech and language therapy services to students in grades 7-12. Key responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering direct therapy to enhance students' communication skills and educational access. The position requires close collaboration with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal student outcomes.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited program.
DOJ/FBI Live Scan background and TB clearance
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Minnesota State SLP and Educator License Required

Nice To Haves

One year of experience in speech therapy
Department of Education certification
Knowledge of evidence-based practices and special education programs
Experience with school-based caseload management

Responsibilities

Conduct formalized and dynamic assessments to determine eligibility and level of functioning
Ability to conduct Speech Assessments in Spanish.
Develop and coordinate treatment plans with interdisciplinary team members
Provide direct speech therapy services aligned with IEP goals
Complete and maintain compliant IEPs; participate in annual and triennial reviews
Consult with teachers and families to support generalization of communication skills
Maintain accurate therapy notes, assessment data, and progress documentation
Supervise and support SLPAs, including monitoring supervision hours (if applicable)
