Requirements

• Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology
• 3-5 years previous job related experience
• Current IL state licensure as a SLP
• Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech Language Pathology (CCC)
• CPR/BLS - American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, which may include evaluating patients, planning and modifying patient care, and conducting treatment.
• Provides clinical guidance and development to staff and serves as a clinical resource to staff and collaborates with Clinical Coordinator and Manager.
• Consistently demonstrates support of Loyola's Statement of Mission and Philosophy.
• Provides direct patient care as deemed necessary by the clinical coordinator or manager based upon program or patient volume needs.
• Functions in the role of patient advocate by being in the position of initial contact for patient-related issues.
• Clarifies and implements physician orders and provides direct care as prescribed by the physician.
• Recognizes symptoms and establishes priorities consistent with patient's condition.
• Provides for the physical, cultural and psychosocial needs of the patient and family.
• Integrates evidencebased practice and professional standards whenever possible.
• Serves as a champion for patient safety by continually observing and monitoring the clinical environment and assuring that safety guidelines are followed.
