About The Position

The Midwest Division of Commonspirit Health is seeking a Speech Pathologist to provide essential evaluation and therapeutic management for patients with speech, language, and/or cognitive disorders. This role aims to improve communication, cognitive function, and quality of life. The Speech Pathologist will conduct comprehensive assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, implement interventions, and monitor patient progress. They will also educate patients and families on strategies and goals, document all encounters, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Success in this role requires strong clinical evaluation and therapeutic management skills, excellent communication for patient/family rapport and team collaboration, a commitment to evidence-based practice, and patient advocacy.

Requirements

• Masters Other in Speech Language upon hire
• Speech Language Pathologist License in NE upon hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association upon hire
• Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology, within 18 months from start date

Responsibilities

• Provides speech language evaluations, care planning, patient treatment and education according to the professional practice guidelines defined by state and professional sources.
• Works as a collaborative team member to develop a coordinated care plan that is accountable to achievement of established goals.
• Is knowledgeable and completes all required documentation and billing requirements according to established local, state and federal law.
• Is responsible for the knowledge and application of measurable quality metrics associated with the area of active practice. Periodically attends team meetings to discuss/improve program evaluation/quality measures.
• Takes responsibility to stay current with evidenced based practice guidelines, stays current with new research introduced and serves as a professional resource to other team members in the area of speech language practice in a medical setting.
• In support of the academic health mission of the organization, periodically accepts assignment of student clinical education at all levels of clinical training.
