About The Position

The outpatient speech-language pathology department at Methodist Outpatient Rehab provides specialized therapy to improve communication, cognitive-linguistic functions, and swallowing abilities for individuals, helping them seamlessly reintegrate into their daily lives. As our Speech Language Pathologist, you will be a vital clinician, expertly assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders to significantly improve patient quality of life. Every day, you will conduct comprehensive evaluations for all referred patients, meticulously implementing individualized treatment plans. You'll contribute clinical expertise to develop/upgrade treatment programs/protocols, and actively shape departmental and organizational goals. To be successful in this role, you will possess advanced clinical knowledge, exceptional diagnostic/therapeutic skills, and a compassionate, patient-centered approach.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a speech pathologist.
• Speech Language Pathologist: CA
• Basic Life Support - CPR through American Heart Association
• Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology

Responsibilities

• Complete patient evaluations within 24 - 48 hours according to department protocol, setting appropriate and relevant goals.
• Implement effective and adequate treatment plans, modifying goals and interventions as appropriate while ensuring patient safety.
• Provide comprehensive patient and family education, utilizing various teaching methods suitable for their level of understanding.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, adhering to department policies for concise, legible records that reflect all interventions and assessments.
