About The Position

The Speech Language Pathologist, reporting to the Primary Health Manager, will operate within a client and family-centered care model, adhering to established standards of professional practice and the values of the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA). This role involves providing diagnostic, therapeutic, and consultation services to children from birth to kindergarten entry who have speech and language delays and disorders. Preference will be given to HSAS members as per the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement. Requirements

  • Master of Speech Language Pathology (SLP)
  • Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Demonstrates care for and with clients and families
  • Knowledge of resources available to 0-5 population and caregivers in urban area
  • Knowledge of needs of young children and social and environmental factors
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of social determinants of health affecting vulnerable populations
  • Knowledge of intervention strategies for youth &families based on best practice
  • Ability to adapt to and implement change
  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with young children individually and in small groups.
  • Knowledge of speech and language development/disorders and diagnostics
  • Registered/eligible with SK Assoc. of SLPs and Audiologists (SASLPA)
  • Travel required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience and training with the Hanen Program is preferred.
