Speech Language Pathologist II, Short Hour
About The Position
The Speech Language Pathologist is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care while adhering to all regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards. This role also supports the development of rehabilitation teams through clinical guidance and supervision of speech-language pathology assistants, rehabilitation aides, and students, as applicable. These Principal Accountabilities, Requirements and Qualifications are not exhaustive, but are merely the most descriptive of the current job. Requirements
- Master's: Graduate of an accredited speech pathology program
- 2 years recent relevant experience.
- SP-Licensed Speech Pathologist.
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider.
- Critical thinking, complex problems solving, decisive judgement and ability to work independently.
- Knowledge and application of professional practice and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work in demanding work environment, organize multiple priorities completing work duties within expected timelines and requirement.
- Computer and required technology proficiency/competencies.
- Demonstrates effective and efficient professional communication (verbal & written) skills as well as interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, teamwork/collaboration, customer service and community relations abilities.
- Able to retain and apply new knowledge & skills.
- Keeps abreast of professional practice development and advancement.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients with cognitive, communication, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized evidence-based treatment plans.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment goals and strategies.
- Document assessments, treatment interventions, and patient progress in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to assistants, aides, and students as assigned.
- Maintain compliance with all local, state, federal, and professional practice regulations to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
