About The Position

The Speech Language Pathologist I provides evaluation and treatment of the patient within the parameters of legal and professional guidelines, and hospital and departmental policies and procedures. This position evaluates and implements a plan of care for the provision of comprehensive speech and language services for individuals exhibiting dysfunction in the areas of speech and/or language.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree Speech
  • Speech Pathologist (SPE) - State Licensing Board
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) - American Heart Association
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) - ASHA (American Speech-Lanuage-Hearing Association)

Responsibilities

  • Performs comprehensive speech therapy evaluations, treatment and related follow-up services, including discharge planning.
  • Develops a treatment plan with measurable goals based on patient assessment.
  • Completes appropriate goal re-assessment and discharge planning.
  • Provides speech therapy, including selection and use of assistive equipment.
  • Trains and educates patients and family members or other support, and documents understanding of treatment plan and goals.
  • Documents and submits patient reports and charges within the established timeframe.
  • Collaborates with patient and other healthcare personnel or outside agencies regarding coordination of care.
  • Supervises Rehab Technicians.
