About The Position

We are searching for a Speech Language Pathologist - someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will appropriately diagnose and treat patients primarily between the ages of 0 –21.

Strategically located throughout the greater Houston area, Texas Children’s Specialty Care offer the same high-quality pediatric subspecialty care as our hospital – right in your neighborhood. Staffed by pediatric specialists from Texas Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine, our teams are trained to care for the physical and emotional needs of children and adolescents. Working closely with a child's primary-care physician, our specialists diagnose health conditions and develop patient-specific treatment plans. Texas Children’s Specialty Care locations use child-sized medical equipment in colorful, child-friendly atmospheres that cater to young patients' needs and interests.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology field of study required
• CCC-SLP certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association require
• TX-SLP license from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation required
• 2-year professional experience as SLP in pediatric setting (may include clinical fellowship but excludes training completed prior to completion of Masters degree)

Responsibilities

• Performs patient evaluations/consultations and interprets results
• Provides results verbally to patient and/or family/caregiver and/or to referral source
• Develops treatment plan in conjunction with patient and/or family/caregiver
• Implements treatment plan and monitors progress on an ongoing basis
• Maintains records as required by law, IDS policy and administrative regulations
• Documents evaluation procedures, results, diagnoses, and recommendations
• Attends and participates in continuing education programs as required to maintain licensure and promote professional growth
• Promotes speech-language pathology services within the community and the IDS
