About The Position

Leaps and Bounds Pediatric Therapy is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (Clinical Fellowship) to join their Speech Therapy team. This is a multidisciplinary outpatient private practice offering Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapy services in a traditional clinical setting and through hippotherapy. The practice emphasizes family-centered care, 1:1 patient interaction, and a collaborative environment. They are a growing, fast-paced campus with locations in Norco & Corona, providing substantial support and training, including continuing education opportunities. The role involves delivering excellent family-centered patient care, supporting functional goals and needs of patients and their families, performing assessments, developing treatment plans in consultation with physicians, and implementing therapeutic strategies. The position also includes discharge planning, documentation, maintaining patient confidentiality, ensuring a safe and clean work environment, adhering to infection-control policies, and staying current with professional knowledge. The role also involves developing staff through in-service training and complying with legal and professional requirements. Collaboration with other disciplines and participation in IEP teams are also key aspects of the role.

Requirements

• Possess a valid Speech Language Pathologist- SLP
• Clear Livescan
• TB Test
• CPR Healthcare Provider Card
• Availability must include until 7pm during weekdays
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Have a desire to continue to grow as a professional
• Regularly stand, bend, stoop, lift and move intermittently during shift
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
• Must be able to push or pull wheeled equipment over 100lbs

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent family-centered patient care, supporting functional goals and needs of the patient and their family.
• Perform assessments and interpretation of evaluations and test results.
• Determine speech therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription.
• Carry out a treatment plan that supports functional improvement across the lifespan.
• Help patient accomplish goals outlined in treatment plan and effective use of therapeutic devices and strategies.
• Complete discharge planning by consulting with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health care workers; contributing to patient care conferences.
• Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records, according to the law.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and protect clinic operations by keeping information confidential, according to the law.
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
• Develop speech therapy staff by providing information; developing and conducting in-service training programs.
• Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Participate effectively as a member of the IEP team, providing services as part of a comprehensive education plan and in accordance with the written IEP, as needed.
