About The Position

Western Slope Health Center is seeking a compassionate and motivated Speech-Language Pathologist Clinical Fellow (CF) to join their exceptional rehabilitation team. The role involves helping others improve their communication, cognition, and swallowing abilities while working alongside an experienced interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Eligible for California Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Fellow licensure.
  • Eligible to complete Clinical Fellowship requirements for ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).
  • Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire if required).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with electronic medical records is preferred (Net Health and PointClickCare experience is a plus).

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate residents to determine speech therapy needs, functional limitations, and rehabilitation potential under physician orders.
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide treatment for communication, cognitive-linguistic disorders, and swallowing disorders.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Participate in care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings.
  • Educate residents, caregivers, and families on treatment strategies, safety, swallowing precautions, and home programs.
  • Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation using electronic medical record systems.
  • Assist with restorative nursing education and staff in-service training.
  • Maintain a safe treatment environment following infection control and safety standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and rehabilitation program development.
