About The Position

Soundly Speaking is seeking passionate and committed SLP-Assistants to serve adult individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in Texas via teletherapy. As the #1 adult IDD therapy provider in Texas, we work closely with dayhab staff and families to serve clients ages 21 and up. We offer both in-person and teletherapy services. This role is based on an hourly wage.

Requirements

• Ability to learn on the job
• Ability to utilize and augment the materials provided
• Texas-issued Speech Language Pathologist-Assistant License
• Comfortable working with adults in their homes and/or outside of a clinic
• A valid license is obtained after completion of a Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders, 25 Clinical and 25 Observation TDLR-approved hours are also required for a Texas license.

Nice To Haves

• Occasional free access to Continuing Education Units as approved by ASHA for yearly license

Responsibilities

• Documenting therapy visits
• Contacting families and case managers to share updates
• Utilizing and augmenting provided resources for therapy
• Working with clients, families, and case managers to provide high-quality, tailored therapy
• Treating a wide range of speech and language disorders
• Providing detailed therapy to achieve short and long-term goals as part of a comprehensive treatment plan
• Turning in paperwork within a 24-hour timeline
• Maintaining confidentiality of patient records in accordance with HIPAA, State, and Federal Regulations
• Communicating with families and case managers about the progression of therapy
