About The Position

The Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) will serve students from Kindergarten through age 21. This role involves providing therapy services to students on the caseload under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. A significant part of the work includes implementing Tier 2 interventions through the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) process. SLPAs in their first year are required to submit a letter of intent to pursue a graduate program in Speech-Language Pathology, following guidance from the Nebraska Department of Education.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant.
  • First-year SLPAs must submit a letter of intent to pursue a graduate program in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Subject to a veterans preference.

Responsibilities

  • Provide therapy services to students on caseload under the guidance of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Implement Tier 2 interventions through the MTSS process.
