Requirements

  • Current Speech-Language Pathologist license by the Georgia Board of Speech-Language Pathology, Audiology, and Hearing Aid Dispensing
  • Certified (Certificate of Clinical Competency) by the American Speech/Language and Hearing Association or meets the educational requirements for certificate and in the process of accumulating the supervised experience required for certification with completion in one year.
  • Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Previous patient care experience.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates speech, language, cognitive, and communication impairments, as well as swallowing, airway, clinical voice and resonance disorders.
  • Develops and administers speech therapy programs and treatments for inpatients and outpatients of age groups defined by clinical competency, which may include neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
  • Requires patient and family education.
  • Requires the exercise of courtesy and patience in speaking with and assisting patients, families, medical personnel and others in order to provide quality customer service.
