About The Position

This role is for a Speech Language Pathologist in an acute care setting, specifically working inpatient on weekends. The position requires a Master's Degree in Speech Pathology, NYS licensure, clinical certification in Speech Pathology (or its equivalent), and completion of a clinical fellowship year. The primary duties involve administering evaluations, diagnosing various communication and swallowing disorders, establishing and providing treatment programs, scheduling patients, educating patients and families, participating in program development, preparing reports, and communicating with referral sources.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Speech Pathology
• NYS licensure
• Clinical certification in Speech Pathology (or its equivalent)
• Completion of clinical fellowship year
• Acute care experience

Responsibilities

• Administer evaluations
• Diagnose speech, language, cognition, communication, and swallowing disorders
• Establish and provide treatment programs for individuals with deficits in speech, language, cognitive, voice and/or swallowing disorders
• Schedule patients to receive evaluation and treatments based on patient needs
• Provide education to patients, families and staff regarding disorders of speech, language, cognition, voice and/or swallowing
• Participate in program development for the speech therapy discipline, PM&R department and Service Line
• Prepare reports and communicate with referral sources and treatment agencies
• Participate in community programs
