About The Position

We are looking for a Speech Language Assistant to join our team and work alongside the Speech-Language Pathologist in providing speech, language, and hearing screenings, while supporting individuals in reaching their full communication potential. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a collaborative clinical environment, contribute to the assessment process, and make a meaningful impact on the lives of those receiving services. Responsibilities may include assisting with screenings, preparing materials, documenting observations, and supporting the implementation of communication-focused interventions under the supervision of the Speech-Language Pathologist. Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree preferred, in Speech Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders or Communication Disorders from a program accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Speech language Pathology
  • NH SLA Certification from the NH Office of Professional License and Certification
  • One (1) to three (3) years’ experience working as an SLA or experience working with children preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Speech/language pathologist with speech/language and hearing screenings without making interpretations.
  • Perform speech therapy as directed by Individual Education Plans developed by a licensed SLP.
  • Document client performance (charts, records, graphs) and report data to the supervising SLP to track client progress and quality improvement.
  • Assist SLP with clerical duties (preparing therapy materials, scheduling activities etc.).
  • Assist with departmental operations such as maintaining supplies and equipment and a safe work area.
  • Attend parent meetings with a Licensed SLP.
  • Assist the SLP with in service training and a public relations program.
  • Participate in staff development, attend meetings, and attend in-services as scheduled.
  • Work at multiple sites.
