About The Position

Provide instruction for the full-range of the speech curriculum that includes public speaking, interpersonal communication, group discussion, argumentation, and intercultural communication. Support and be capable of coaching a competitive College Forensic Program. Prepare complete course syllabi and outlines, and work on articulation agreements with local colleges and schools. Develop and maintain a relevant community college curriculum leading to certificate and degree completion in Speech Communication. Adapt instructional techniques to accommodate varied learning styles and abilities to support student success. Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses. Participate in division, college and/or district-wide committees. Be committed to, and participate in, the shared-governance process.

Requirements

  • Master’s in speech, speech broadcasting, telecommunications, rhetoric, communication, communication studies, speech communication, or organizational communication OR Bachelor’s in any of the above AND Master’s in drama/theater arts, mass communication, or English OR EQUIVALENCY REQUIREMENT : All applicants are required to meet the minimum qualifications specified by the Yuba Community College District ( YCCD ) by the application filing date. Alternatively, applicants must have obtained an equivalency determination from the District before the publication of the Recruitment Announcement.
