About The Position

Speech-Language Pathologist Recruitment for the 2026-2027 school year. As a Speech Language Pathologist you contribute to this mission by evaluating students to determine their functional levels and identify special needs. You will work as part of a team that serves 7,500 students at 14 campuses across Helena.

Requirements

  • Montana Speech Language Pathologist license at the time of employment.
  • SLP certification (i.e., Certification of Clinical Competency for Speech Pathology) from an accredited institute.
  • Climb or balance.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Talk or hear.
  • Stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a resource to school staff members in the development of a balanced program for oral communication and speech improvement.
  • Assist and guide teachers in observing, describing, and referring suspected and identified speech and language impairments.
  • Provide a thorough assessment and diagnosis of speech, voice and language impairments.
  • Provide screening to identify speech disability children at regular intervals and at specified levels.
  • Assist in proper referrals of individuals to agencies and/or specialists in the community.
  • Provide appropriate individualized programs of therapy to meet individual students' needs and correct existing speech and language impairments.
