Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) Full Time
About The Position
Stepping Stones Therapy, Inc., a leading pediatric private practice, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to work under the direct supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide speech and language therapy services to pediatric clients in an outpatient clinic setting. The SLPA supports the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based interventions for children with communication, language, articulation, social-pragmatic, and feeding-related needs, while maintaining compliance with state regulations and clinic policies.
Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
- Valid SLPA registration/license (per state requirements)
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass background check and TB clearance (as required)
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with pediatric populations preferred
- Experience in a pediatric outpatient or school-based setting
- Familiarity with play-based therapy and child-led approaches
- Experience supporting social skills groups or AAC users
- Strong classroom management and behavior support skills
Responsibilities
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to pediatric clients as outlined in the supervising SLP’s treatment plans
- Implement therapy activities targeting: Articulation and phonology, Receptive and expressive language, Pragmatic/social communication, Fluency and voice (as appropriate), AAC support and carryover activities (when applicable)
- Prepare therapy materials and organize session activities in advance
- Collect objective data during therapy sessions and document progress accurately
- Maintain daily treatment notes and submit documentation in a timely manner
- Follow individualized goals, behavior plans, and therapy protocols established by the supervising SLP
- Collaborate with supervising SLP regarding client progress, challenges, and goal adjustments
- Communicate professionally with parents/caregivers regarding session activities and carryover strategies (within scope)
- Maintain a clean, organized, and child-friendly therapy environment
- Adhere to HIPAA, FERPA (when applicable), and clinic confidentiality standards
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and supervision sessions as required
