Under the guidance and supervision of the Principal, the classroom teacher is responsible for developing and delivering academic instruction and a classroom climate that are consistent with district policy and philosophy and that maximize student potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. This role involves implementing appropriate research-based instructional strategies, differentiating instruction, and designing engaging lesson plans according to district guidelines and curriculum. The teacher will maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning, develop classroom rules and procedures, and prepare effective instructional activities and materials. The position requires on-site regular attendance and provides whole group, small group, and one-to-one instruction, including tutoring as needed. Behavior management will be in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and campus policies. Collaboration with support teachers, aides, and other faculty is essential to ensure consistency and effective educational activities for all students, particularly those at-risk or with special needs. The teacher will monitor students in various settings, maintain data-based documentation of student performance, and foster professional relationships with students, parents, faculty, and staff. Participation in staff development, extracurricular activities, and committees is also expected. The role requires creating authentic, standards-based assessments, providing timely feedback, and maintaining accurate documentation of student progress and communication with stakeholders, while upholding confidentiality.
