Special Ed Instructional Assistant – Preschool Classroom
Requirements
Para-educator License with early childhood endorsement or CDA or 2 year Degree or higher preferred
Good communication skills/Interpersonal skills
Under the Every Student Succeeds Act prior to starting, you must have one of the following: · Two years of study at an institution of higher education; or · Associate degree or higher; or · Obtain voluntary certification through the Board of Educational Examiners(Paraeducator Certification); or · Successful completion of ACT WorkKeys® (NCRC Assessment).
Nice To Haves
Knowledge and experience in behavior modification program preferred
Positive, caring, and patient individuals preferred
Enjoys working with students with behavior challenges
Ability to redirect students towards positive behaviors
Responsibilities
Ability to work with challenging students
Be able to work with students academically and socially
Able to attend to personal hygiene of students
Assist in implementing the preschool curriculum and assessment
Responsible for documentation and record-keeping
If required able to communicate with student's case manager, medical providers, and caregivers
