About The Position

Join Our Team at Arbor Academy! Are you passionate about shaping young minds and fostering a love for learning? We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated SPED Paraprofessional teacher to join our team. If you possess the experience, we want to hear from you! This is a federally funded position and is contingent upon the continuation of grant funding. This position is responsible for providing aid to instructional staff in meeting the objectives of the instructional program. Must have experience working with students with disabilities.

Requirements

• At least two (2) years of study at an accredited institution of higher education (minimum of 60 credit hours)
• An associate degree (or higher)
• Meet a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrate, through a formal state or local academic assessment: Knowledge of and the ability to assist in, instructing reading, writing, and mathematics; or Knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics as appropriate.
• Passing scores of the MTTC: Basic Skills; or Professional Readiness
• Passing ETS Parapro assessment with passing score of 460
• Passing WorkKeys test
• Experience working with students with disabilities.
• Satisfactory criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring.
• Provide instructional support services under the supervision of teacher.
• Provide monitoring services during testing sessions.
• Assist with the Title 1 program: complete necessary paperwork for the Title 1 program.
• Prepare the classroom for subsequent instruction.
• Supervise pupils in learning center activities: computer lab, library, or media, etc.
• Read to children, listen to children read, explain assignments to children, etc.
• Respond to all levels of supervision.
