A SpEd Paraprofessional - SSN performs the day-to-day activities of teaching special education students while under the supervision of a teacher. This role does not involve making diagnostic or long-term education decisions regarding special education students. The position may involve non-traditional learning environments such as building and off-campus work sites. The paraprofessional supports the principal and classroom teachers in implementing the Significant Support Needs (SSN) programs and encourages a positive and safe learning environment. They assist licensed special education teachers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, nurses, and other evaluative staff in implementing the goals of severely/profoundly disabled students. This position addresses current student needs at Eagleview Middle School, and the individual may be required to change locations to another school if student needs change.
