This SSN position performs the day-to-day activities of teaching special education students under the supervision of a teacher. It may also involve supporting students in the Resource program under the supervision of the Resource teacher. The paraprofessional does not make diagnostic or long-term educational decisions. Assignments may include non-traditional learning environments. The role supports the principal and classroom teachers in implementing SSN programs and fostering a positive and safe learning environment. It assists licensed special education teachers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, nurses, and other evaluative staff in implementing goals for severely/profoundly disabled students. Note: This position addresses current student needs at the specified school. The individual may be required to change locations to another school if student needs change, which could occur at any time during the school year. The district reserves the right to modify or change duties.
