About The Position

The SPED Paraeducator assists the Instructor in creating a positive learning environment to facilitate the personal, social, and intellectual development of students. To accomplish these tasks, the Paraeducator works closely with the staff and administration of the District.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 48 college credit hours, obtained an associate's (or higher) degree; or passed the Para Praxis Test.
  • Health and Inoculation Certificate on file in the Central Office (after employment offer is made).
  • Knowledge of the operation of various office machines.
  • Desire to continue career improvement by enhancing skills and job performance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in facilitating the personal, social, and intellectual development of students.
  • Assist in establishing a positive learning environment, and respond to the individual needs of students.
  • Ensure all activities conform to District guidelines.
  • Communicate and work effectively and efficiently with members of the school district and community.
  • React to change and frequent interruptions in a productive and positive manner, meeting deadlines as assigned.
  • Operate all classroom equipment appropriately as assigned.
  • Work to implement the vision and mission of the District.
