About The Position
The SpED Paraeducator - Support Center (SC) position is a continuing contract role with Kent School District, located at Kent-Meridian High School. This role involves supporting students within the Support Center, working 6.5 hours per day on a 190-day calendar. The position is part of the KAP Salary Schedule, with step placement based on verified years of experience. The salary is annualized and spread through August. Upon hire, paraeducators are required to complete state-required training through the KSD Professional Development Team.
Requirements
- Associate (AA) degree or higher from an accredited institution.
- 72 college-level credits from an accredited institution.
- A score of 455 or higher on the ETS ParaPro Assessment and proof of high school completion or equivalent.
- Willingness to take the ParaPro Assessment if not currently meeting the qualification (opportunity to test prior to formal hire if chosen as finalist).
Responsibilities
- Support students within the Support Center.
- Complete state-required training offered through the KSD Professional Development Team upon hire.
