About The Position

This role involves implementing instructional activities with students under the direction of the teacher and/or building principal. The paraprofessional will assist in preparing lesson plans, instructional materials, and collecting data. Key responsibilities include being prepared for instructional duties, implementing behavior management techniques, and treating students with dignity and respect. The role also includes assisting with physical management of students (lifting may be required), maintaining the classroom, and supervising duties such as lunchroom, recess, and bus.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or 60 college hours or passed the Praxis ParaPro test

Responsibilities

  • Implement instructional activities with students as directed by the teacher and/or building principal.
  • Assist in the preparation of lesson plans, instructional materials, and data collection.
  • Assume responsibility for being prepared to perform instructional duties as prescribed by the teacher.
  • Implement behavior management techniques as directed by the teacher/supervisor, and treat all students with dignity and respect.
  • Assist with physical management, etc. Lifting may be required with some students.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the classroom.
  • Assist with duties including but not limited to the lunchroom, recess, bus, etc.
  • Participate in training, staffing, and faculty meetings as directed by the building principal and Administration.
  • Adhere to confidentiality policies and practices for students under IDEA as outlined by the teacher.
  • Follow any Benton School Board Policy and/or practice.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the administration, building principal, and/or the supervising teacher.
