Spectral Integration Engineer - Expert-Level

Mission Intel•Springfield, VA

About The Position

Mission Intelligence Group is seeking an expert-level Spectral Integration Engineer to lead the integration and deployment of advanced spectral exploitation capabilities supporting the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG). The position enables Image Scientists to process, analyze, and exploit literal and non-literal datasets through a modern spectral exploitation environment. The engineer serves as a technical advisor and integration lead, establishing and maintaining an integrated spectral exploitation environment within the broader NSG TCPED Enterprise. The role works with systems engineers, developers, image scientists, government stakeholders, and operational users to deliver reliable end-to-end GEOINT capabilities across enterprise environments, including cloud, on-premises, and hybrid architectures.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance, ability to obtain and maintain SCI access, and ability to successfully pass a polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Imagery Analysis, or a related STEM discipline; alternatively, four additional years of related experience may substitute for a degree.
  • For candidates with a non-STEM degree, two additional years of experience are required.
  • At least 5 years of experience integrating sensor programs into large, complex system-of-systems environments, service-oriented architectures, or cloud, on-premises, or hybrid infrastructures.
  • At least 5 years of NGA program or project experience.
  • Experience integrating spectral data into spectral exploitation tools.
  • Experience integrating solutions using cloud-based technologies.
  • Strong understanding of the Systems Engineering Life Cycle (SELC).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current NSG/ASG and NRO enterprise environments.
  • Previous Intelligence Community or Department of Defense program experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Imagery Analysis, or a related STEM discipline.
  • INCOSE Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP) certification.
  • Experience integrating spectral exploitation tools within SAGE/CAP architectures.
  • Experience integrating NGA advanced tradecraft tools, including Data Transformation Services (DTS) and Full Spectrum Tool Kit (FSTK).
  • Working knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), systems engineering methodologies, MBSE tools, and modeling languages.
  • Expertise in photogrammetry, remote sensing, image science, information science, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or geomatics.
  • Experience integrating solutions that leverage automation technologies, augmentation capabilities, or artificial intelligence technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead integration and deployment of spectral exploitation environments supporting Image Scientists and GEOINT mission workflows.
  • Provide expert technical guidance on strategy, architectures, capability development, and enterprise integration initiatives.
  • Translate mission needs and customer requirements into technical solutions and system capability requirements.
  • Conduct systems integration across complex system-of-systems and service-oriented architectures.
  • Analyze and trace user requirements, workflows, architectures, and technical dependencies to improve mission performance.
  • Support technical planning, project execution, risk management, performance engineering, and interface design activities.
  • Ensure interoperability between spectral exploitation applications, tools, and enterprise systems.
  • Integrate cloud-based technologies and services into mission-critical operational environments.
  • Collaborate with government stakeholders, developers, engineers, and image scientists to deliver mission-focused capabilities.
  • Maintain the integrity and effectiveness of enterprise-level spectral exploitation solutions across the NSG and related organizations.
