About The Position

Quest Diagnostics is hiring a Specimen Technician I in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The role supports diagnostic testing by processing specimens, entering test orders, and preparing laboratory specimens for analysis. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with rotational weekend work. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Flexibility to work according to staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call work, and overtime when required.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a production or medical environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

Enter test orders into the data system.
Presort specimens and pick up and deliver processed specimens to the laboratory.
Centrifuge and aliquot specimens.
Process specimens to be sent to additional facilities.
Prepare laboratory specimens for various analyses and testing.
Identify problems with specimen types, such as missing information, and resolve issues in some cases.
Understand the relationship between tests ordered and specimens received.
