About The Position
Responsible for specimen processing to include sorting, aliquoting, and centrifuging. It also includes registration of specimens, ordering lab tests, specimen labeling, monitoring computer reports and other administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment.
Nice To Haves
- Six months of experience in healthcare environment involving computer skills
- Knowledgeable on basic medical terminology
Responsibilities
- Performs specimen processing by identifying, sorting, aliquoting, centrifuging, and labeling biological samples.
- Performs semi-technical procedures such as calculating weight, measuring samples, and recording data.
- Operates laboratory computers to enter and retrieve lab data.
- Performs account registration and orders tests in the applicable system.
- Answers telephone inquiries, conducting analytical problem solving. Faxes results, fields specimen handling questions, dispatches couriers, and performs other administrative support and lab-related customer service duties.
